Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Tezara slides the second fish over to where Ethan had been sitting previously and waits.

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

After a while out reading with Arthur, Ethan excuses himself back to the tavern to grab some food. He hadn't eaten yet today, and was starting to regret that decision. Once back to the tavern, he pauses on approach to his seat, staring at the fish. Sitting down after a moment, he glances over at Tezara. "Was this you?"

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

He absentmindly pets Whisper. "Wouldn't take gold. Food was second option."

"Everyone likes food."

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Ethan blinks, glancing down as Titan take a bite of the fish off the plate. "You're still trying to pay me for helping you?" He picks up his fork, and starts eating, chewing contemplatively before looking back at Tezara. "I wanted to help. You don't owe me anything, least of all your hard earned money or food. Though I do…greatly appreciate it."

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

He puts his full attention on Ethan, staring at him. "Isn't pay. And isn't owed. It's…" He pauses, looking vaguely annoyed. "Word. Starts with… a g, I think."

Cody (GM/Nazi overlord)-04/12/2017

Davos pipes up loudly, possibly drunk – "Ah tiny elf man is giving gift! Shows Finch he is lesser man. Makes for a good subject. Many congratulations Finch!"

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

"…Gift." Tezara seems to take his time, as if to savor the word. "Yes. Gift."

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Ethan looks at Davos. "Giving gifts doesn't make you less of a person. It's a sign of respect or affection." He turns back to Tezara. "Thank you, for the gift."

Cody (GM/Nazi overlord)-04/12/2017

"Not what Davos said! Says lesser MAN! Still just as much of tiny elf person with mighty Orcish cat."

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

When thanked, Tezara purrs and goes back to petting Whisper. "By the way, it's Tezara."(edited)

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Around this time everyone should notice Fijit is having a sugar high. Shes bouncing around the place casting magic and giggling.

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Ethan blinks, his attention torn between th bouncing gnome and the druid. "Tezara…that's your name isnt it?" He smiles. "Thank you."

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

"Welcome." He ducks down after that to say something to Whisper. The warcat headbutts Tezara lightly and then makes his way over to Fijit. Tezara straightens in his seat, looking amused.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Fijit sees whisper and gets distracted. Starts making fake mice for him to play with, then moving them around with mage hand.(edited)

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Whisper gets low to the ground, very still, then his butt starts wiggling. He pounces on one of the fake mice.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

It poofs and another shows up in its place a lil bit away. Fijit falls to the ground laughing thinking this is the most hiilarious thing shes seen. Forgetting about all the previously hilarious things in her life.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Whisper immediately pounces on the other mouse.

Wiggly butt and everything.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Somehow between not having any air to breathe but still laughing, still on the floor, she moves the mouse around completely entertained. (thank goodness, a bored sugar high gnome = bad things to come xD )(edited)

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

The warcat looks understandibly confused when there is yet another mouse that appears suddenly.

He looks back at Tezara. The druid rests his head on one hand and does a shooing motion while still being very amusing.

Whisper turns back and once again pounces on the mouse. This time, he propels himself upwards in an arch to land on the small creature.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Fijit almost passes out, her laughs just wheezes now. She lets him have the fake mouse.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Whisper chuffs in victory.

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Titan watches all of this from the edge of the table, his head moving back and forth between Fijit and Whisper like he's watching a tennis match. Ethan just laughs at the antics.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Whisper picks up the mouse, shakes it back and forth, then brings it over to Tezara. When Tezara shakes his head, Whisper stands still for a moment, then turns to Ethan.

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Ethan, still chuckling, holds out his hand for the mouse.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Whisper drops it into Ethan's hand and sits.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Once the mouse lands in ethans hand, its goes poof, with confetti thrown in the air, and now ethan is the color puce. Wheezes can be heard.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

Tezara looks vaguely horrified for a moment before breaking down into a giggle fit.

Nex (Yui)-04/12/2017

(I love this party =w=)

Zak (Mord)-04/12/2017

Ethan slowly closes his eyes. For a second it looks as though hes going to be angry. But then he also breaks out in a fit of laughter, scaring the crap out of Titan, who looks baffled.

Princess Villain-04/12/2017

Fijit bounces over with a big grin on her face, looking very accomplished. She gives everyone a hug then sits down to practice her magic tricks.

As an after thought the color goes away after a min.

Bee (Mason)-04/12/2017

(I also love this party.)

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

Alfonze smiles lightly and looks vaugely curious. "Nicer than I let on? And what other things? I don't see why you can't tell me."

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"You like to act prickly and disgusted about things that really don;t bother you all that much, I think. And you always come with me to do…everything that may be even a bit dangerous. Nicer. And you don't have to see it, Alphonze. It's not your burden."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"That's a pretty arbitrary estimate of what counts as my problem." Alfonze says with a small laugh. "And besides, what have I ever feigned disgust about?"

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"Do you really want a list? Or can we finally drop it an eat? I'd rather like to enjoy what might be my last meal with you, if that's alright."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"Overall I would enjoy it much more knowing there are more to follow. Would it be so hard to let someone, anyone, into your secret plan? Or let them help you at all with anything that really matters?"

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"Yes, it would. It puts people in danger that don't have to be. Especially you. You have no stake in this, you joined for convenience. And you don't know me well enough to say things like that."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"You hardly let anyone know you well enough to say anything, trust me i've been trying. I am an adult, I can choose the amount of danger to be in well enough on my own."

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"No one has any reason to want to know me, Alphonze. If I have a plan to leave, why let anyone close, hm? Where would the fairness be in doing that to someone?"

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"So what was the point in saying yes to the first dinner, hmm? You've already sent that part of the plan to hell Ethan, so could you drop the arm's length bullshit for ten goddamn minutes and treat me like an equal? Life isn't about fairness and equallity Ethan, people get hurt, bad things happen, people are treated poorly and exiled for stupid fucking reasons, now get the hell over yourself and talk to me."

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

Ethan goes quiet for a long time before answering. "Call me selfish then. I wanted to have dinner with someone nice. Even if they were exiled for no reason." He stares at his hands in his lap for another minute. "I made…a deal. To be able to stop it. Hopefully. The evacuation was more important, so I came to help. But when the last boat leaves, I won't be on it. This can't keep happening." He sighs. "Knowing it probably meant death…I didn't tell anyone else. They don't need to die too." His voice get quieter again. "You don't need to die too."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

Alfonze takes a moment to sip his wine and compose himself before he replies. "Now that we've finally gotten somewhere, are you really going to pass up on this chance to have a willing ally? Can you afford to? If we've any shot of really taking this bastard to the ground shouldn't we pull out all the stops? Hell Davos has been frothing at the mouth to fight this thing, and I mean that literally I think. If we collaborate and really put our best efforts into this you and I could have many more dinners in store for us."(edited)

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"Yes. I have a willing ally. One who won't die. One I don't have to worry about or protect. Best efforts aside, I don't think I have a shot at getting out alive. And I'm not about to risk all of you." Ethan sighs again. "Besides, I'm not sure how much I trust Davos to be…in his right mind anymore. He's been acting strangely, preaching about some goddess. And Fijit has her memory to take care of, and Tez has…I'm not sure what Tez wants after this, but I can't imagine he wants to risk Whisper. And you have a life full of parties and fun to get to. I don't have anything. It's sacrificing the one for the many. Basic math."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"I don't really care about Fijit's memory, or Davos' new goddess, or Tezara's …. something …. pack I guess? Regardless, I don't really have a life of parties and fun to go anywhere to. Hardly anyone in this city respects me anymore to be honest." Alfonze looks ashamed as he talks. "I'm not even a real member of the nobility anymore." He flashes Ethan an almost real looking charming smile. "Stupid right? I keep prancing around using the name as if it still belongs to me." He takes a moment to drink his wine, using it as an excuse to stop talking. "So, if I can be of help stopping this Harbinger why should I not put my all into and do something worthwhile for once?"

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"You do worthwhile things that aren't throwing yourself into a suicide mission, Alphonze." Ethan takes a deep breath. "And your family sounds like a bunch of hypocritical morons. You're nobility to the rest of the group and everyone here who knows you. And you're certainly nobility to me, if you want to be. It is your name. No one can take that from you, but you. Of all people, I would know."

Fizzban (Katya)-06/21/2017

"Bit early to be saying that isn't it? My life has been a constant series of far less worthwhile things. I see no reason to not attempt to kill a natural disaster. Trust me, it will be one of the first useful things i've ever done."

Zak (Mord)-06/21/2017

"Only you can really decide what's worthwhile. But I won't let you say you're not useful. That's simply hogwash, and you know it. The reason you should see is death…but if you're insistant on coming, I can't stop you. I could physically restrain you, but I don't want your last memory of me to be manacles, honestly. I just want you safe. This isn't. So please….reconsider."

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

<s>~</s>~~

So as they wander through the store and find items that suit them, Ethan makes sure to seek out Tez. He comes up behind him quietly, seemingly forgetting that he's so quiet when he moves. He clears his throat to get Tez's attention.

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

Tezara jumps slightly and he half turns to look at Ethan. "Hm?"

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

"So uh…your outburst back there. Out of character for you." Ethan pretends to browse the shelf in front of them, glancing at Tez out of the corner of his eye.

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

He blinks slowly. "Is it really out of character for me to protect my mate? She may be my mother, but that famiial tie won't stop me from protecting you."

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

He goes rigid as he puts the puzzle pieces together. He slowly turns his head to look at tez. "I'm sorry…protect your…mate?" He looks concerned and confused.

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(CATS OUT OF THE BAG NOW TEZZY!)

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

(He never realized it was in the bag)

"Yes. You accepted the pelt." He starts to look confused as well.

(Press x to pay respects)

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(x)

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

(x)

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

Ethan makes an aborted choking noise, staring at Tez. "The pelt. The golden one. The one you offered me. The one I accepted. That one." His voice is slowly getting higher pitched as he speaks.

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

He nods slowly.

Fizzban (Katya)-06/28/2017

Alphonze seems to hear the choking noise and after a few seconds his comes over to the two of them looking slightly worried. He takes a sip of wine before speaking. "Hey.. Everything doing alright?"

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

Ethan turns and really slowly sits on the ground with his back to the shelf. "Everything's….fine?" He seems incredibly unsure as to the actual state of the situation. "Tezara…you offered me the pelt….because you wanted to be my mate? Is that correct?" He seems to have defaulted to Base Ethan in his confusion.

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(so, Ethan. You have the heir to the Unseelie Court and the local noble playboy interested in you. How do you feel?)

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

(Dead Inside Cindy, Dead Inside.)

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(xD)

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

"….Yes." He takes in Ethan's body language and eventually it hits him. "You… didn't know. I thought you knew. I even scent marked you."

(Ripperino, bud)

Fizzban (Katya)-06/28/2017

Alphonze lets Tez finish talking as he takes another larger sip of wine. "Wait, wait, wait, Tez did you not actually explain anything to Ethan? Not even a little?" He looks at Tez with some mixture of confusion and pity. "You seem to have put him in a really shitty position. You see, Ethan and I have been a thing for a pretty long while now. All things considered."

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

The strangled noises increase exponentially.

Ethan is staring straight ahead, eyes wide. "Alphonze…don't be rude. He thought that I….and he had reason to believe that I…." He can't seem to fully form a coherent full thought. He shakes his head to clear it. "I'm so sorry that I didn't know. I was woefully ill informed and…this is my fault. I'm so sorry, both of you."

(And here we see the Ethan in his natural habitat: blaming himself for everything xD)

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(cuddles for Ethan)

Bee (Mason)-06/28/2017

"…Don't be sorry. He's right. I didn't explain anything. You just… you know so much, so I just assumed that from my actions and the pelt, you knew." Tezara's voice is quiet and he's still for a few moments before looking at the shelves again. "I'm the one who's sorry."

Zak (Mord)-06/28/2017

(Oh boi)

Nex (Yui)-06/28/2017

(boi please)

(you three gon break my heart :c)

June 30, 2017

Zak (Mord)-06/30/2017

Ethan sighs heavily before standing. "I don't want you to be sorry. I just…I'm unfamiliar with flirting and affection as it is, let alone understanding affection that is nonstandard. Hell, I pat peoples heads to show mine." He furrows his brow, shaking his head at himself. "Looking back on all of your actions, I can see what you were getting at. In the moment I just…missed it." He turns his hands palm up, almost in defeat. "I…I'm in unfamiliar territory here. I don't know what to do.." He looks between Alphonze and Tezara, hoping one of them has an answer.

Bee (Mason)-06/30/2017

He just shrugs, still looking at the shelves.

He seems to be keeping careful control over his facial features and posture.

Zak (Mord)-06/30/2017

Ethan looks pained, and gently grabs Tezara's wrist. "Don't just close down like that. Talk to me, Tez. Please."

Bee (Mason)-06/30/2017

"…Don't know if there's anything to talk about. You two are…" He motions back and forth from Ethan to Alphonze.

Zak (Mord)-06/30/2017

"There is definitely something to talk about, Tez. I refuse to just leave it at a huge misunderstanding. You deserve better than that." He looks at Tez, his eyes pleading with him to talk.

Bee (Mason)-06/30/2017

"You and he are together. That's all I need to know to back down. And I will." He addresses the last part to Alphonze.(edited)

Fizzban (Katya)-06/30/2017

Alphonze sort of nods with a shrug. "This is more Ethan's choice than anything, honestly." He takes a sip of wine before continuing. "Personally, I would love if you'd leave me to my business. However, if Ethan has other ideas I won't force him into anything."(edited)

Zak (Mord)-06/30/2017

Ethan looks back and forth between them again, before directing his gaze at Alphonze. "Am I your business? We never discussed any part of our relationship past eating fancy dinner and….bedroom activities." His brow furrows as he speaks, wondering if he somehow missed yet another thing.

Nex (Yui)-06/30/2017

You all notice Aidan peeking over the top of one of the shelves, resting his chin in his hands. When he realises he's been spotted he slowly slides behind the shelf.

Bee (Mason)-06/30/2017

(Snickers)

Zak (Mord)-06/30/2017

He gets the vilest look from Ethan.

Nex (Yui)-06/30/2017

"Don't look at me in that tone of voice, sir!" you hear from across the room somewhere.

July 1, 2017

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

Alphonze sighs as he notices Aidan peeking. "Aidan, while i'm well aware that my love life is certainly the topic of your daytime interests, could you at least be more subtle about your snooping?" Then he takes a sip of wine before turning his attention back to Ethan, "And Ethan, aside from our bedroom activities, I rarely bother to see the same person more than once unless something is going on. That however will need to be a more private talk I believe."(edited)

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Well you certainly didn't clue me in on that particular fact. And private it will be, if you like, but this matter should be resolved. I don't want to just…." He gestures at the open air around them, looking back at Tezara. He still hasn't let go of his wrist, as though afraid that Tez would flee.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

Alphonze sighs a little and looks over to Tezara, whom it looks like he forgot about for a moment. "The matter can be resolved when we can speak about it away from prying ears."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara tugs his wrist from Ethan's hold and takes a step back.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan looks over at him, small amounts of panic beginning to surface in his eyes. "Tez?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"You two should go talk. It's important." He makes a small shooing motion and turns to leave, probably to go seek out Aidan.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Tez don't…you don't have to go.." He trails off, losing the right words to say to fix it. His hand still hanging in the air from where it held Tezara in place, he stares after him.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

When he turns to glance at Alphonze, his gaze is lost-looking. "Have I fucked everything up? I should have known, right? It's my job to know, I should have."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

Alphonze sighs a little and looks over to Ethan, "Honestly, at the risk of sounding like a total bastard? There was no way in hell you could have deciphered his motives without being raised in the woods yourself. Sometimes life sucks, and it seems pretty pointless to me to wonder about what would have happened." Alphonze tries to put on a smile for Ethan, "Life is just one long dissapointment, with lots of little spots of time where you can forget that for a little while."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"….If it's all a disappointment, then what's the point?" His hand finally drops back to his side, limp. "If it's always going to end like this, what's the point of the story?"

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

"Life is all about suffering along until something makes it easy enough to bear, and a lot of people never find their thing." Alphonze's normal carefree look slips away for just a second as he looks deeply sad, then he pulls himself together into a smile. "Think of it all as one big shitty waiting game, the point of the story is to see who can hold on until the end."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan looks down at the floor for a while, before looking back up. "What if someone doesn't want to play anymore?" He says it quietly, almost afraid that Alphonze will walk away too. "What if they didn't sign up to play, and it's too much? It's too much loss."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

There is a few moments of scraping and then a low rumble as Whisper pokes his head around the corner to stare at Ethan. He manages to get around the corner barely and sits by Ethan, nosing his arm.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

Alphonze gives Ethan a fake plastered smile. "We don't really get a choice, no one would play if they did. Life is loss, loss of life, of love, of family, of anything and everything else. We're expected to keep a smile, and soldier on. And we hope that something comes along to anesthetize the pain for a little while." At this last sentence Alphonze raises his glass to Ethan and takes a sip.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I…" Ethan blinks, his breath coming faster. He starts leaning on Whisper, as if suddenly his own weight is becoming too much. "I need some air." He turns and staggers out of the shop, with or without Whispers help. He damn near runs to the nearest alleyway, taking refuge in it.(edited)

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Whisper follows closely behind, his rumblings slowly increasing in volume. The warcat keeps his side firmly in contact with Ethan.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/01/2017

Alphonze watches Ethan leave before walking over to the counter, making his way through the shelves. He calmly refills his glass before nodding to Aidan. "I think i've hit my cue to retire for the night, my thanks for the supplies." Alphonze calmly walks out of the shop after this, making his way to a nearby inn that meets his standards.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

With his back against the alley wall, Ethan sits and clings to Whisper. He mutters to him, saying "thank you" over and over until he collects himself enough to actually speak. "I'm not sure how much you understand…but you should go back to Tez. He needs you more than I do. I'll be fine."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Whisper starts to nose Ethan again before chuffing and gently taking his cloak in his teeth, tugging.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I…I can't. You heard Alphonze…it's all a losing game, isn't it? I'm better off sitting here waiting for the damned Harbinger." He hangs his head, defeatedly.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

He keeps tugging insistently while chuffing.(edited)

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

After several minutes of tugging, Ethan eventually sighs. "Fine! Fine. I give." He stands up off the dirty alley floor, allowing Whisper to tug him wherever he wants.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Whisper tugs him over to the shop entrance, getting stuck for a few moments since he can't quite see where he's going. After getting un-stuck, he lets go of the cloak and enters the store. After a few moments of low murmurs and rumbles, there is a loud hissing noise and a thud. Tezara gets batted out into the street rather suddenly, followed by a very angry looking Whisper. Even with how violent it looked, the druid seems to be more annoyed than hurt.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan aborts his reflexive step forward to get between them when he sees Tezara's expression. His hands return to his sides, finding home in his pockets. He steps back, further into the street. "Apologies, I didn't realize he would be involving you when he drug me out into the street. I'll vacate immediately."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara growls at Whisper before turning slightly in Ethan's direction. "You're fine. He's just being difficult." He spits the word at Whisper. The warcat prowls closer and rumbles, tail slowly swishing.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan holds up his hands to Whisper in surrender. "Whisper, it's fine. Tez doesn't want to see me. I'll leave." He ever so slowly starts walking backwards, trying to remove the warcats attention from Tezara.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Whisper's eyes narrow and he grabs Tezara like a mother cat does to a kitten but by his clothes. The druid is forcefully dragged over and plopped in front of Ethan. The warcat chuffs and sits expectantly.(edited)

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan closes his eyes and stops backing away, for fear Tezara would get drug after him through the streets. "What does he want, Tez? I'd ask, but.." He gestures to himself, as if to say his own talents are inadequate for the task.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"…He's worried. He said he heard my name and assumed that you wanted to see me." He makes a small hiss at Whisper and gets cuffed for it almost immediately. "I told him that I was leaving you and Alphonze alone. He didn't take that too well."

He mutters something about "stupid designating 'help' trick".

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan sighs again. He's doing that a lot lately. He also murmurs under his breath "For all the good alone did us". He bites his lip for a minute, thinking. "Tez…can we walk, maybe? We should talk and….I don't want to do it stnading in the street." His posture straightens, and it seems as though he's bracing himself for the inevitable sharp rejection.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

He nods slowly.

And then turns slightly to glare at Whisper, who chuffs victoriously.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan turns to walk down the street slowly, waiting for Tez to fall in step with him before speaking. "…You know that I am incredibly sorry about…all of this, right? This was not done to upset you. If I had known, I would have spoken to you about all of this sooner." He clears his throat, urging himself to speak. "You are…incredibly important to me. The group as a whole has won me over. But if I could prevent any harm from coming to you, ever. I would. If it was outside of my control, I would make sure that it wasn't any longer." He falls silent, unsure where to continue.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"…Why? I know I've done a lot with this group, but why me?" He looks fairly confused.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"It's not about the group, Tez. It's about me." He shakes his head to press hom his point while he walks. "Very rarely in my life have I let people get close. I'm not sure when it happened with all of you, but it did. Some, more than others. And when I think of someone hurting you or Alphonze, there isn't a why in the world that could save them." The last sentence is said through clenched teeth, his jaw hard. He quickly calms, clearing his throat again. "I don't have a reason to give you, as I don't have one to give myself. But I realized, standing before your mother…I would have done it. Not for her condensating attitude, or her flippant treatment of lives. But because of what she did to you. I would have lost, Tez. Badly. But I would have made her regret a great many things on my way down."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"And then I would have made her regret the rest before Whisper and I tore her into bits." He get this intense look before putting a hand to his forehead.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan watches him closely, reaching over and brushing his fingertips across Tez's shoulder. "Are you alright, Tez?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"…I'm fine. Just… trying to adjust to some new things. Don't like it." He reaches back for Whisper to rest his other hand on the warcat's head.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan nods, retracting his hand and continuing forward. "If you need anything, please ask me. I'll do everything in my power to help." He watches Tezara out of the corner of his eye. "May I ask a question?'

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Hm?"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I'm honestly hoping you have a better answer than I did but: why me?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Are you asking why would I protect you?"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Well…sort of. It was more of a general 'why on earth would you have feelings toward me and see me as a worthy mate'. Bit self depricating really, but I can't find another way to get my point across." he shoves his hands back in his pockets as he concludes, looking around vigilantly as they walk.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara stares at Ethan with a surprised look. "….You are very smart and good with people. You're also very good with Whisper. You are very caring to those that you bond with and wouldn't hesistate to destroy those that threaten you and yours. All and all, good qualities."

His stare shifts from surprise to a "well duh" as he speaks.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan chuckles, shaking his head. "Well, I'm flattered. Really. I may not see those qualities in myself, but if you see them I will not call you a liar by denying." He leads them down a side street, watching the scenery go by. "I don't know what to do, here. Romantic love is not something I deal with often enough to be anywhere close to skilled. Though I fear it may not be an issue much longer…running from Alphonze showed him what a coward I am." He laughs again, though this time it is rueful and full of aspersion.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Running isn't cowardly. Running keeps you alive. There's no shame in living." He seems slightly offended that Ethan would think that.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"It wasn't very life-or-death in the shop there." He lowers his head to watch his feet for a moment, a hand removing itself from his pocket and rubbing the back of his neck

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara goes to brush a hand on Ethan's arm before stopping short and putting his hand back down. "We all have things we want to avoid."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan catches Tezaras hand as it falls, gently. He stops walking and pulls Tez to a halt along side him, turning to look at him. He leaves the hand holding Tez's lax, so that should he wish to pull away, he can. "Am I one of the thing you want to avoid now, Tez?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"…No. But I'd rather not get in Alphonze's way. Learned that lesson early." He fidgets.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan scoffs. "Alphonze can be…well let's face it, a bastard. I would tear the world apart for him, but he is one. And I won't let him stop us from having an adult conversation. Not even the fear of him." He smiles tentatively at Tez, slowly pulling him into walking again.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"I'm not afraid of Alphonze." He studies his left arm while walking and then points out a long shallow scar on the inside portion of his upper arm. "I do have a healthy respect for things bigger than me though."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan gets very serious for a moment. "I'd never let him touch you, Tez. I don't want any of you to fight each other. Bigger or not."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"I promise I won't." He pats Ethan's head with a small smile.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan nods reassured, before stopping. "Wait…you stole my affectionate head pats." He squints at Tez, though it is obviously playful.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara slowly looks at his hand and then back at Ethan and deadpans with "trademarked. It's mine now."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan looks aghast. "But how else will I show you affection in an awkward and easily misunderstood way?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"…..I mean you could do it my way. Apparently no one knows that way."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan doesn't say anything, choosing instead to pick up Tez's hand and rub his cheek into it. He then sticks said hand under his chin, and deadpan stares at Tez. "You're right, works just as well."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

His eyes get really wide and he opens his mouth to say something before closing it. He does this two more times before looking fairly embarrassed. "I… I wasn't expecting you to…"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Actually follow through? That's alright, very few people expect that of me." He releases Tezara's hand from under his chin, smiling just a little snarkily. "Though my head pats never did that to you."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

When Tezara speaks, his voice is slightly higher than normal. "Uh…No… They didn't. You don't know what you did, do you?"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I was assuming it had to do with the scent marking you mentioned? Or maybe it was something to do with….." He stops, watching Tezara's face. "Have I offended?"

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Nope. No, no offense. None at all." He stares at his hand. "You scent marked me. You just… Why did you do that?"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan blinks, glancing quickly at Whisper almost as though for advice. "I thought that perhaps showing you the same kind of affection you showed me might help to patch things up. I don't want you to avoid me or be tense around me, Tez."(edited)

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Ah. That makes sense. Sorry, that just threw me off. You don't have to do that, by the way. I was actually joking." He smiles.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan deadpans. "But it's trademarked now. All mine."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"I…can't argue with that since I did that to you earlier. Copycat." He looks mock offended.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan clears his throat. "Actually, that is a warcat. A species of carniverous big cats, said to be used by orcs in battle." He gestures to Whisper. His tone is teacherly, but the squint around his eyes betrays the amusement.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

He sighs and facepalms. "Once of these days, I'm going to bite you for that kind of comment."

Whisper purrs when gestured to.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"You'll have to take me to dinner before the biting starts." He winks, and it looks unpracticed. Realizing that he must look a fool, he shakes his head. "Sorry. Not everyone can be as smooth as a noble tiefling it appears."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara's head tilts slightly with a puzzled look on his face. "Why would I have to…" It takes him a solid ten seconds before he realizes. "Oh. Right, that's something that people do."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan closes his eyes and scrunches his nose at himself. "Sorry, yet again. It seems that it's easy to forget sometimes that there are some customs you don't know yet."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"I'd make a list of what I don't know to give to you, but sadly I can't." He shrugs. "Don't worry about it. I've been around for 120 something years and- Sorry, 150 something years. I've got more time to learn. Moreso now."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan nods, realizing he's touched on a sore subject. "It's never too late to learn something." He falls quiet, continuing to walk.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

The silence lasts for a while before Tezara breaks it again. "We're still friends, right? And you'll still help me with the egg?"

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Of course we're still friends. More than that: the best of friends. The egg will still have two parental figures, no need to worry." He actually smiles this time, the relief in it evident.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

He relaxes so quickly. "Good. I don't think I can be a single parent. I might break something by accident."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I have plenty of experience with children, of many species. You'll have all the backup you need." His smile is reassuring, and he turns them down another street. "Though how much backup I'll need fixing things with Alphonze…that's another story." His smile fades, replaced again by worry.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Things are that bad? And why would you need backup? Do you need Whisper?" He looks a little concerned.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"Ah, no. I don't think I'll be attacked. At least nothing more than verbally. I trust him. I just…I don't think he's okay, and I need to speak with him. Which, as you can see…I am less than skilled at with people I care about."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"I think you'll manage. I mean, we came to a good conclusion and I'm not good with talking to people. Shouldn't be too hard."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

"I hope you're right." Ethan smiles again, and ruffles Tez's hair.

"Now that our eggs parentage has been settled, how about we head back? You have your equipment to settle and I…I have a tiefling to find."

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

Tezara nods. "Good idea."

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan takes them on a path back to the shop, in no real hurry. He makes small talk on the way back, before stopping off in front of the shop again. "Thank you for agreeing to speak with me. I appreciate it." He gives Tez a small smile.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"Of course. Then again, I had a little incentive." He shoots Whisper a look. The warcat bumps his arm playfully with his nose.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan moves to Whisper and gives him ear scritches. He leans on him just for a second and mutters "thank you", before straightening up. He waves as he starts to walk away. "Be careful, alright? And don't let the others do anything dumb while I'm gone." His smile says he's joking. Mostly.

Bee (Mason)-07/01/2017

"….You say that like they actually listen to me when you aren't around." He calls after Ethan before leading Whisper away to find Fijit and Davos.

Zak (Mord)-07/01/2017

Ethan chuckles as he makes his way through town. He takes the time to stop and inquire after Alphonze to people on the street, silently thanking the tieflings previous life activites for his ease in getting directions to the upscale inn. He pauses outside, sighing briefly, before entering and asking the innkeeper about the tiefling. After some discussion and only the smallest bit of bribery, Ethan now stood outside the correct room. He knocks twice, hoping for an answer so that he doesn't have to pick the lock.

July 3, 2017

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

As Ethan knocks he hears a sort of "Hmm, who is it?" coming from the room inside. After a few moments Alphonze opens the door holding a glass of a different wine than he was previously drinking. "Oh hello Ethan. " He says with a smile. "Did you come by for business or pleasure?"(edited)

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

Ethan looks fairly relieved that Alphonze answered the door. "Can we talk?" He gestures to the room beyond Alphonze, suggesting privacy.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

Alphonze motions for Ethan to enter as he walks over to pour Ethan a glass of wine. "Of course we can talk, did you have a topic in mind?"

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

Ethan closes the door behind himself as he enters, moving to sit at the table in the room. "I did, yes. A few interwoven topics actually." Ethan bites his lip as he thinks of where to start, before nodding slightly to himself. "I wanted to apologize, first of all. I didn't realize what Tez was getting at until it was too late, and it put you in an uncomfortable situation. So I'm sorry about that. Secondly, I'm sorry for running out of the shop on you. My panic got the better of me, and I should have tried harder to stay." His hands clasp in his lap as he speaks, steadying himself. "But more importantly: I wanted to make sure you're alright. You said some….dark things back there. Dark things I understood, for better or for worse. But dark, nevertheless. I know you'll probably insist that you're fine, and try to avoid talking about it but…" He gestures toward the scene beyond the window. "We're going to be doing something incredibly dangerous. And I want to go in to this knowing that I tried everything I could to make sure you were happy."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

Alphonze smiles and takes the seat across from Ethan. As Ethan talks Alphonze sips at his wine without the former smile. "Well, to begin. I don't think anyone would have realized what Tez what getting at, it was confusing as all hell." Alphonze seems to prepare himself as he takes another sip, "And as for the.. Dark things, I don't think any of them were unmeritied. I can assure you that i'm okay though, its our job to suffer on after all." Alphonze leans in with a more genuine smaller smile as he finishes. "But if you'd like to make me happy, what is really keeping us on this island? I thought we agreed that evacuation was the smart option."

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

Ethan slowly looks uncomfortable. "Well…if the Harbinger gets used against the Seelie Court it would be…..bad for me. And many other people. So we have to stop it." He quickly moves past the bit about it being bad for him specifically, taking a sip of his wine to cover up his blunder.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

Alphonze looks curious as he speaks, "Bad for you, how exactly? You can't cover it up that well."

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

Ethan puts his glass down and sighs. "It's not a big deal. It won't happen for a very long time, hopefully." He smiles hoping that Alphonze will accept that answer.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

"We've been through this one haven't we?" Alphonze asks with a smile and a sip of wine. "If it isn't important can't you just tell me?"

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

"I didn't say it wasn't important. Just that it wasn't a big deal. To be perfectly fair." Alphonze gets the signature Ethan charm smile this time, a sure sign that he's getting shit.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

"Those are extemely similar and you know it. I think you should just tell me."

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

"Can it at least wait until after I finish speaking to you about what I came here to originally?" He appears resigned to giving up the information eventually, but on his terms.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/03/2017

"I guess it can wait until we are done discussing your business." Alphonze says with a smirk. "As long as I find out eventually, you know I won't forget after all. So what else did you want to discuss?"

Zak (Mord)-07/03/2017

Ethan nods. "I know you wan't forget. I'm not that lucky." He smiles quickly, before becoming serious again. "When speaking with Tezara, you mentioned…'something going on' between the two of us. And now that we're in private, and the dilema with Tez has been sorted…I was wondering if you'd explain your meaning? I thought that you didn't do that kind of thing."

July 4, 2017

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

Alphonze smiles and sips his wine again. "Well I did say that I usually don't date, as a rule. I think every rule has its exceptions, and I have been known to maintain relationships with people I find.. interesting? Fun? Both probably." Alphonze leans forward on his hands before speaking again. "I've got the eye for talent you know? More so, I've got an eye for people that I know i'd get along with."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan blinks. "So….you want to date me…because I'm talented?" He seems more confused as the sentence goes on, as if any understanding he had of the situation was fleeing as he spoke.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Among other reasons, I like people with talent." Alphonze explains with a smirk. "Also, you and I get along well enough for me to want to spend any length of time with you. Usually I can't wait for someone to leave in the morning."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"Be that as it may…Alphonze, you never spoke to me about this. That's not to say that my answer, had you asked, would have been no. Quite the opposite. But I would have liked to be consulted." He looks torn, picking up his glass and taking a healthy swig, before replacing it on the table. "I would have appreciated being asked."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I had intended to broach the topic when capable of giving you time to think about it, honestly." Alphonze says with an apologetic smile. "I had every intention of asking you before Tezara forced my hand."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan nods, an understanding smile flickering across his face. "I'm glad to hear there was intent, at least." He considers Alphonze for a moment. "Did you feel that your hand was forced? I don't want this if you feel that you've been pressured in somehow."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"There was intent, at the least." Alphonze says with a nod. "Of course my hand was forced, how was I to let Tezara try to move in without making my intent clear? I haven't been pressured into asking, simply into the timing of the ordeal."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"Well, he didn't do it on purpose. It was a misunderstanding, one that I have taken care of between Tez and I. We're friends." He reaches across the table and touches Alphonze's hand. "And there will always be time for you to formally ask later." His smile is reassuring. "But yes, for the record. In case I don't get the chance to make myself clear later."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I'm glad the misunderstanding was cleared up." Alphonze says with a smile. "I'm also glad that we got our talk cleared up, but i'm sure you'll get every chance to clarify later."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"And we come back to what I promised to speak to you about…" He falls quiet for a few moments, thinking about his phrasing. "You remember that I mentioned a deal before, yes?"

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Yes, I do remember the deal. I was hoping you would come back around to it."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"Well….." Ethan reaches into his pocket and produces the gem he pulled out for Fijit before, and places it on the table. "I made a bargain. The Seelie Court, specifically Aelfric, agreed to help me defeat the Harbinger. Or at least slow it down. In exchange.." He sighs, knowing that Alphonze won't be happy. "After my death, I will live in the Other World. To teach them things about the material world. Forever." He quickly moves on. "So, as you can imagine, my future home being destroyed is less than pleasant."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

Alphonze listens as Ethan talks, taking sips of wine occasionally. "So to summarize, you've sold yourself away for help?" Alphonze takes a second to think. "Simple enough really, I can probably wiggle you out of it." Alphonze flashes Ethan a very devilish grin. "Contracts are my specialty, as you might guess." He takes a small mock bow after speaking.

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"If something like that can be summarized, I suppose that's as close as I can expect you to get. But I don't need you to get me out of it, Alphonze. It was a fair deal, made under no coersion."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I'm not sure I care? I didn't ask any questions." Alphonze says with a sip. "I can't have you being preyed upon by anyone but me can I?"

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan stares at Alphonze, realization dawning across his features. "You're going to do this whether I like it or not, aren't you? I'd hardly say you're preying on me, unless you're getting something out of this without my knowledge?"

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I hadn't really planned on listening to any objections, no." Alphonze says, punctuating by blowing a kiss before going to flop down into the bed. "Besides Ethan, I'm half devil, Aren't I always preying on you?"

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan watches Alphonze move to the bed. "Preying implies that I'm being taken advantage of. I'd like to think our newfound relationship is more…equal than that." He stands, moving to lean against the wall near the bed to stare at Alphonze. "Why does it matter, anyway? You would outlive me, should you choose to keep me that long. It's not as though the Seelie Court would kill me to take me." He says it without hesitation, but his brow furrows just a tad.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Wouldn't they? Fey do love a good trick." Alphonze says with a shrug. "Or maybe they're more content to hope you die fighting the scary monster they created. In any case, no matter how long I decide to 'keep' you, I don't want you living with the proverbial sword of Damocles hanging over your head."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan smirks, with just a bit of sarcasm. "Love you too, Alphonze." He shakes his head, folding his arms across his chest. "I can't stop you. And if you won't listen to objections, the most I can do is tell you that you don't have to. I'm content with my choices. But you're correct, honestly. I'm done. If this stopped effecting me? I would go…somewhere. Not here. Maybe with you. I'm no hero. And certainly not a good person."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Good, so we're settled. I'll break you out of that hack job of a contract, and then we can go do something more fun with our lives." Alphonze looks fairly pleased. "I'll just need to speak with the fairy king about this."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"Will you at least let me come with you? Let the prey watch the predator at work, and all that." Ethan sits on the edge of the bed, letting out a breath. "Gods I'm tired of all of this. I just wanted to be a teacher. Even children aren;t this exhausting." He chuckles good naturedly, before letting himself fall backwards with a 'whump'.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"You could come with me, but he'd try to drag you into the whole thing. It would guarantee that I have your permission though, united front and all that." Alphonze rolls over to kiss Ethan on the cheek. "Besides, soon this will all be over. I can't do this forever, i'm not even sure I could do this for another few weeks. I'm not cut out to be a hero, i'm the dashing villain."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"If you're the villain, what does that make me? I'm certainly no henchman or sidekick. I've got too much snark and free will for that nonsense." He smiles brightly. "Besides, there's not much further I could be drug in. I'm already neck-deep in everything going on. Much deeper and they'd drown me in it."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"You don't want that, drowning is terribly boring." Alphonze smirks. "Now leave it to me to drag you out."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"I'm sure I'd much rather die in my sleep. Equally boring. But it'll give me the most of my very few years to be boring with you." He melodramtically flops his hand onto his head at the mention of his remaining lifespan, for effect.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I'm sure we can find someone to get you more years if you're worried about dying early." Alphonze says with a grin. "Not everyone can be blessed with devil's blood after all."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"I'm not sure you could put up with me that long. Devils, especially spoiled ones, aren't known for their patience with mouthy mortals. And I do have quite a mouth on me. You'd never find any respite from my incessant nagging." His smile has turned into a grin, clearly enjoying himself.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"I know how much of a mouth you have on you, trust me." Alphonze says with a wink. "The nagging would give me something to complain about at least."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan nods sagely. "If you're complaining about my mouth, I've done something wrong. I'll just have to make sure I get into just enough trouble to keep you occupied instead." He reaches out a takes Alphonzes hand, interlacing their fingers. He's quiet for a minute, before he speaks again. "We're going to get out of this, right? One way or the other? I'm slowly discovering that I'd very much like to live. Especially now that I have a cheeky nobleman to keep me company." He attempts to lighten the subject towards the end.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Of course we'll get out of this, have I ever not gotten out of anything?" Alphonze says with a grin. "I'm the master of avoiding unnessacary work."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan laughs. "Why do you think I'm so good at being sneaky? It's certainly not because I wanted to be found by my responsibilities." He leans over and kisses Alphonze's forehead. "Thank you."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

Alphonze smiles and kisses him back. "That makes sense, one needs some way to avoid the cold grasp of responsibilities." He nods sagely.

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"Speaking of grasping, we will have to go back at some point. End of the world and all of that." He sighs, resigned. All traces of the fun he had been having gone when he remembers their purpose.

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"We could just leave?" Alphonze says with a dramatic head tilt. "Get a head start on that happy life we both want."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan shakes his head. "Not unless everyone else was leaving as well. I can't leave them to deal with this. Trust me, I want that life. More than anything right now. And the offer is tempting. But they're my friends."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"We can more than likely convince everyone else. Everyone knows we're the smart ones." Alphonze says with another grin. "And then we can all put this behind us as someone elses problem."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"You're rude sometimes, you know that?" Ethan shakes his head disbelievingly, with a semi-serious scolding look. "As far as I know, Fijit and Davos were ready to leave today. That only really leaves Tezara, but I don't see him leaving this thing to roam without an agreement between his mother and Aelfric. And my deal will need to be dealt with, as an aside."

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Managing your deal will be done, and I assume I can trust you to handle Tezara." Alphonze says with a sigh. "Haven't we already dealt with the fairy duo, they agreed to non-agression ofr the time being right?"

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

"The 'for the time being' is what I'm worried about. They still need to sit down and end this whole blood-feud thing, if they haven't already." Ethan mirrors Alphonze's sigh. "And trusting me with Tez probably isn't the right call. Once he has his mind set on something, he's far more determined than the group at large gives him credit for. If he really wants to stay, I won't be able to stop him. "

Fizzban (Katya)-07/04/2017

"Ending the blood-feud of possibly millenias old fey is sort of out of our job decsriptions honestly. I say we convice him to leave with us and damn them all to hell, literally if needed."

Zak (Mord)-07/04/2017

Ethan gives him an eye roll. "Ah yes, I'm sure that sending the fey to hell is the perfect solution to our problems." He grabs a pillow, and drops it on his own face. His muffled voice travels from beneath it. "I haven't been able to sleep in days. When this is over, I'm going to be goddamn Rip Van Winkle."

Blood & Steel - Session 1/2

Excitement spreads in tiny whispers across Ushanaria. The Iron Kingdom, forced into a corner though they may be, are still producing new wonders. Rumours spread of a new major discovery. Only select individuals have permission to pass into the militarised nation and attend for the reveal.

Levi Barton is one such man. A tinkerer and a toy maker by profession, Levi is accompanied by his faithful bodyguard, Daubeny – a soul-bonded automaton. Declaring Sabine Everfrost (a dhampir rogue) and Kuchu Saruhime (a member of the Atrarian royal family) as his escort, the party begin their adventure having just arrived in Aurath. Their destination? Withall Hold.

They spend the night in Aurath, the checkpoint between the warring nations. There, they met a young gnome librarian and alchemist, Elient. Levi quickly offered to employ her, which she happily agreed to, becoming a new companion to the party.

The party began to travel to Aramore. Along the way, they set up camp (with Levi using his magic to create cabins). Etia paid them a visit, but got into an argument with Kuchu, and left after threatening to "drain" her luck. She returned later that night, apologetic. She was beyond happy when Kuchu forgave her and even promised to protect Levi at her request.

The next morning, Daubeny was nowhere to be seen. The party travelled to Aramore, where the casting of magic within the boundary of city was banned. After investigating, they found that this was a side effect of a ritual of some sort that had been done to cut off access to magic at Grandhaven Prison. The magic cast at Aramore was wild and unpredictable. As the party hung out at a bakery run by a tiefling named Icu, the party saw the results of casting. Elsewhere in the city, a man had been caught trying to break into someone's house and tried to use magic to defend himself from the guards.

The magic reacted violently, and froze the man solid, leaving a thick layer of frost in a huge radius, even inside Icu's Bakery.

Though they were ultimately unable to save the man, the guard wanted to thank the group for trying, and offered to foot the bill for their stay.

The party then began to travel to Carleone. As they reached the fork in the road, they were confronted by a strange sight – a corgi walking on his hindlegs. He ordered the party to turn around; his "master" had given him orders not to let anyone pass him.

The party were able to "survive" a blast from the corgi's wand (which fired angry piranhas at the party.) and the corgi – Vale – decided this meant the party were able to survive whatever threat his master had told him about at Carleone.

Once in Carleone, the party began to explore. They found an inn run by goblins, which they quickly decided to stay at. They were able to get a tour of one of the two institutes – Redwood Institute, a place of education and research for those unable to use magic.  Along the way, they learned of a noble who had been caught stealing research and as part of his punishment, everything within his vault was being sold off.

Bandit Camp - Session 1

Snuggled in a clearing in the Shadow Grove, there lies an abandoned quarry and mine.

A small group of people find their way to this quiet mine.

Kaiya Suidae arrived first. A young woman with short brown hair, this human decided to take a nap on the quiet grassy verge, perhaps not even realising there was a mine there at all.

Leobryn and Sylvis arrived next, an inseperable duo. As they explored the camp at the base of the quarry, they were joined by Shrambibulor the Bone Master, a tiny gripli and his zombie companion.

As they tried to decide what to do, each wanting to claim the mine, they heard the distinct sound of hooves approaching the quarry.

They saw a wagon with a cage on the back of it, four men in dirty clothes and a fifth man driving the wagon. The men claimed to have ownership of the mines, and demanded they leave.

A fight broke out and it took just a single look into the cage to know that these men were slavers – bundled up and frightened was a young woman, Ondrea.

They decided to form a bandit crew.

Bryn and his bear companion, Bear, excavated the entrance to the mine that had been buried under rubble, and began to make the mine more comfortable for residing in. Exploring, he made a mental shopping list of goods they needed, including an extra chair since he only had four, yet the crew consisted of five people, a zombie and a bear…

They decided to hit a caravan on their way to the nearby town of Orilon. The caravan had no idea what hit them – before they could even fully react they were slain.

With new, illgotten goods in their possession, the party made their way to Orilon to run chores and buy the various goods they wanted.

Once back at the mine, Bryn continued his decorating, and the group began to settle into a small routine. Exploring the mine further, they found a total of three chambers connected by narrow passageways, a small spring, and signs that someone had tried to dig further. Abandoned mining equipment was found lying around.

With a new home to settle into, the party looks forward to their new lifestyle…

Final wrap-up
I'm still awful at remembering to do these.

The party cleared the cave of the wolves and lycanthropes and returned to town. The town council had accepted Ethan's proposal to evacuate the city, with the understanding that if this were a false alarm there would be consequences.

The party steadily travelled back north, spreading the word to every outpost and town along the roads. It wasn't until Llanwyr the party encountered true resistance; the ruler was reluctant to evacuate on the word of strangers. However, they were able to negotiate and have the city at least be ready to go.

They finally arrived in Corwy, the home of Alphonze. The mayor was discovered to be a drunkard who cared more for his alcohol than his people. Again, the party were able to get him to agree to evacuate the city… to protect his alcohol.

They found a merchant who could help tiny Fijit with her memory – he had invented a device that stimulated the brain in just the right way to restore memories for a short period of time.

Fijit was able to remember an ethereal forest; the smells and sounds hit her in a very strong way, only making the pain worse when the memories faded again. Davos tried it out and remembered something painful to him and left the store. Tezara tried it and remembered a glimpse of his mothers face and the smell of her.

Frustrated, Davos left the city to hunt, followed at a distance by Whisper. Tezara asked around the town about his mother, and learned her name – Teltu. The woman he spoke to worried for her, as the last time she had been in the city she had been heavily pregnant. Her son had attempted to follow her home, only to be attacked by the wildlife of the Llaeni Woods. Teltu had returned and defended him, before warning him to never follow her again and vanishing into the thick woods.

Davos was attacked by a horrific creature and almost certainly would have died. The Fey King, Aelfric, who had quietly made a deal with and befriended Ethan, brought Ethan to the spot where Davos lay dead, only to witness the Shroud of the Baen Nighe take effect, healing his words and protecting him from death, as Erin had promised.

The party regrouped in Corwy. Once Davos was healed, they headed into the woods to try and find Teltu with a small hint from Aelfric for where to look, with a strong implication that he knew her, and a message; "Tell her, her people need her.". In a quiet clearing, they found a strange portal. Stepping through, they found themselves atop a frozen mountain. A tiny village lay before them. Asking for Teltu, they were pointed to a quiet shack and warned that she could be difficult to speak with.

Inside, was a woman with ice white hair and the same distinct presence around her that clung to Aelfric.

No matter what dreams Tezara may have had of his mother, she was not that. She was pleased to see him, but the party were disgusted to learn she had left him in the forest as a test of his strength.

They learned that she was in fact the Fey Queen of the Unseelie Court – making Tezara heir to the Unseelie. They learned the Harbinger was actually a weapon, created by the Seelie Court in an effort to destroy the Unseelie, but it was uncontrollable. Aelfric confirmed this, and admitted to sealing it underneath Sanctum Island which had at that point been unoccupied. He hadn't remembered the mortal world is prone to growth and change.

Aelfric told them that the beast had been sealed, but every thousand years, due to damage on the seal, the creature could partially escape. Ethan realised if the seal could be repaired, the Harbinger would be trapped once more. Aelfric confirmed this – the creature would be trapped on whichever side of the seal it was on when it was repaired.

The party returned to Corwyn and sought out Aiden, the strange merchant they'd encountered when returning from the ruined temple.

He struck up a deal with them. Allow him to place his branding on their armour and equipment, thus advertising his business, and he'd grant them some gifts.

The party, now geared up with a huge amount of powerful equipment, received word that Alphonse's parents were seeking him; when his mother stumbled upon the tavern they were staying at he and Ethan quickly escaped. At Aelfrics recommendation, Ethan went to Alphonse's home to collect an item that his mother was apparently trying to deliver.

She revealed that it was a belated birthday gift from his birth father – a devil.

Reluctantly, Alphonse opened the gift to find a finely crafted, unique bastard sword and a small talisman. The talisman granted him a new wave of power, while the sword was clearly designed to further refine his power.

Now the party felt ready, they called on the Fey King – who arrived with the Queen, and asked the party to help them come to an accord, as they had been unable to do so alone.

The result was a binding of fates; whatever happened to one court would happen to the other. As his "fee" for negotiating this, Alphonse negotiated with Aelfric to free Ethan from his own bargain – Ethan had made an agreement that he would accompany Aelfric to the Otherworld when he died and teach the fey the countless things the mortal world knew that they didn't, in exchange for the King's personal assistance in buying his party time if needed.

With these issues resolved, the party rested one last time, and left the tavern to be confronted by a huge collection of Fey of every kind – brownies, nymphs, fairies, the Bean Nighe Erin, even a banshee or two. They all traveled together to the site of the Seal of the Harbinger.

They found themselves walking across the shimmering energy forming the shield. They found the crack and formed a circle around it. The fey began to channel elemental magic through the party members.

As they tried to channel water energy through the party, it rebounded. As they prepared themselves to try again, they realised someone was now stood in the middle of them – a young girl with white hair and eyes, her flesh looking like burning coal.

The King – who had been holding the portal open – heard Ethan call for him and came charging in to help, leaving only Queen Teltu to hold the portal. He identified the child as Vigilate. Two more companions of Vigilate revealed theirselves.

The King moved to slay one of them, while Alphonse called to his father who then slayed another. Davos called to Cimmeris, who dragged Vigilate down into the seal with the Harbinger. Her companions reformed besides her, as she stood on the back of the Harbinger (who she had referred to as both "big brother" and Dassasruli)

The fey hurried to finish the ritual… and were succesful.

The party hurried out of the chamber.

With the threat to the island now sealed away, the party said their fond farewells.

Alphonse and Ethan went to Ushanaria to start a new, quiet life, accompanied by Tezara who wanted to explore more with Whisper.

Davos and Fijit went with the Fey King to the Otherworld in search of Fijit's past.

The civilians of Sanctum Island would eventually return to the Island once they were sure the threat had passed. The two tiny nations merged into one for the protection of the Island. They eventually learned the truth of what the five heroes had done for them, and formed a watch to keep an eye on the Seal of the Harbinger.

The Fey Courts expanded the knowledge of the druids – though their rituals had helped, the fey revealed the secret of the Ritual of the Sealing.

The End.

I'm bad at remembering to do these :)

The party headed out to the western mountain range where another druids circle lay. Upon arriving at the opening of a cave, described as the home of the druids, the party was approached by a new companion, Alfonze, a tiefling.

He joined the party as they began to explore the caves, realising something was amiss almost immediately as they encountered a group of zombies. Each of them bore the same marking over their left eye, which was traced back to an ancient religious practice of making an offering of the eye in order to allow a god to view the mortal realm through their followers.

Investigating the caves, they were able to locate the druids in the deepest part of the cave – surrounded by a dozen zombies. After slaughtering their way through them, the druids were thankful, though confused as to their presence.

They explained that some time ago, they executed a traitor, who came back as a mohrg - an undead entity, still possessing its hatred and anger of life, and able to raise zombies to its service.

The party then met with a man calling himself Draven. After a spat, he revealed that he had been trying to warn the party – he had witnessed the druids ritual during the last Harbinger Awakening, and it had failed. He was frustrating to the party as he didn't make moves to evacuate the city, to which he revealed that the more people see him, the faster his curse – slowly twisting and erasing his face – would progress.

The party headed out to Sigero, with Ethan and Alfonze remaining behind for a little longer.

The trio attempted to go through official channels to speak to the council, but found it so frustrating, they lashed out. Through force alone, they managed to find one of the council members – a very unimpressed looking paladin. At this moment, Ethan arrived in the city and through some quick thinking was able to smooth everything out and be seen by the council through the channels his companions were unable to tolerate.

The party regrouped at the inn. After some impromptu "life lessons" from Ethan for Fijit, the party went off to bed. The next day, Ethan and Alfonze went out for dinner while the remaining trio decided to investigate missing livestock.

Employing his ability to speak with animals, Tezara questioned some of the farmers pigs. One of them – Jimmy – told them that the thing hunting them was furry, went "awoo-awoo!" and looked kind of like the farm man. Much to his mothers displeasure, Jimmy offered to guide the party using his tracking skills to find the furry, howling man.

Jimmy led the party not far to the west to a cave. The cave was packed full of wolves, and several lycanthropes.

(we unfortunately had to stop mid-session as i was exhausted xD)

Trapped - Mass Catchup!

I forgot to update for several weeks :\

A summary of events…

The party went off in search of clues about what the Harbinger is. They went up the coast to a long abandoned home wherein they encountered Arwen, the ghost of a noble girl who was murdered by her mother to protect her from the Harbinger. She gave the group all the information she could, and in exchange, the party had her sent to the afterlife by Eric.

They then headed north to the site of an ancient battlefield where they found some equipment still in tact. They moved on to the mountains in search of the nearby druid circle.

They instead encountered a strange woman by the river. The party realised she was a baen nighe named Eren. After playing her tri-question game, she granted them each her protection from death; the next time they would have normally died, her power shall defend them.

They finally arrived at the druids circle thanks to Eren's directions to find a conflict between the druids and strange fiery creatures from the nearby cave. They investigated and met Ember, a fire nymph, who had noticed a flaw in the druids ritual and had meant to summon the head druid to her but the elementals sent to retrieve her had confused and terrified the druids.

Thanks to the partys efforts, the two sides were able to convene and share information.

To further improve the ritual to seal away the Harbinger, the parts was then sent to a nearby abandoned city where the druids had already sent an agent. The party found this agent – Laura – trying to figure out some riddles in order to gain access to the inner sanctuary of a temple. They solved these and found themselves in a labrynth populated by minotaurs. They eventually found the end of this, and though she was severely wounded by a trap, Laura provided support to the party as they fought a minotaur made of obsidian.

With the intervention of Etia, the party were able to defeat it and retrieved not just the requested scrolls but also some strange gear that each of them felt drawn to.

On the way to return the scrolls to the druids, they encountered Aiden, a friendly merchant. He invited them to visit him in Corwyn some time. Once they returned the scrolls to the druids, they were then asked to go check on another druid circle.

Arthur and Ethan went to the library to research what might cause the strange behaviour the party observed.

Arthur got sidetracked, but Ethan found an old book, covered in a thick layer of dust.

This book gave him details of an entity known as the Harbinger. The party began preparations for its arrival…

Trapped - Session 3
Slightly late :'D

Moving on to Crastow, the party were met with the sight of a silent port town. They quickly found an open inn. The innkeeper – an elf woman – told them that the town had been put into shutdown with very little explanation from the local cleric.

The party sought him out and learned that there was something happening in the crypts; an evil long sealed away was breaking loose. The party accompanied the cleric into the crypts to investigate. They found every floor flooded with plant-based monsters. As they went, the cleric explained that a long time ago, there was a monster that they just couldn't kill. Instead, a passing wizard helped them seal it underground, deprived of its power. The crypts were built in the shape of runes to help empower the seal, and the church as a "cap" to it all, to focus divine power. Over time, those guarding the church built homes for themselves, which drew the attention of others, and "before we knew it", there was an entire town built up. No-one else but those who helped seal the creature away knew of the true nature of the church.

Though the party were badly hurt by the monsters – especially Davos – they managed to reach the bottom floor. They encountered the creature – a male figure with a hood that appeared to be made of bark, that blended into its skull. Giving it no chance to confound them with words, the party set upon it – only to realise it slowly healed its wounds, even after its apparent death.

Studying it closely, Ethan realised acid would overcome its regeneration and rushed to buy a vat of acid from the nearby, very confused blacksmith. He sealed the creature inside, leaving the vat in the remnants of the magic circle.

The party returned to the Hunter's House. Arthur grabbed some drinks and went off to the library to conduct some draconic research.

Trapped - Session 2

After celebrating their victory and tending their injuries for several days, the party felt ready for adventure. The bartender was approached by a young man, who informed him of a fire at the nearby Royn Keep. Overhearing this, Ethan – a human rogue – set off for the keep. The bartender approached the party and asked them to investigate.

Upon arriving at the keep, the party discovered a large pile of burned corpses and the fort occupied by slavers. After securing the outside, they moved inside. One of the slavers approached, trying to warn them of something, but was killed by Davos.

The party found an ogre sat upon a throne in the keep. As he charged, Arthur noticed another figure subtly hiding in the shadows. After taking some damage, this man vanished. The party made quick work of the ogre, and helped themselves to the chests of treasure. They rescued the slaves and brought them back, having a brief encounter with a pair of centaurs. They were initially suspicious of the party but were reassured by the rescued slaves that they weren't captive.

After arranging shelter for the captives and having the bartender begin efforts to return belongings to survivors, the party celebrated their most recent victory – accompanied with their new party member – and bedded down for the night.

The following morning, the party was approached by a tiny kobold. It screeched for the party to follow until they agreed, mentioning something about being eaten. It led the party directly to a large group of kobolds. The kobolds decided to kill the party for breakfast.

A fight broke out. During this battle, two wyrmlings and a young dragon entered the fray. Ethan noticed that it was odd for dragons to be so close to civilization. After harvesting materials from the dragons, they headed back to town for rest and celebration…

WHAT I LEARNED

Prepare more than enough content; the players completed the keep faster than anticipated.

Include a variety of enemies and try to employ more tactics.

Continue to practice including descriptions.

GM Test

Upon arriving in Amgate, several adventurers heard about animals going missing on the outskirts of town.

After visiting the tavern and forming up a party, they went out to investigate a cave that is the source. Almost immediately, Davos – a half-orc barbarian – triggered a log trap and took a large amount of damage. The party investigated the cave further and found a swarm of spiders feasting on a dead goblin. Fijit – a gnome sorcerer – dropped water on them as an experiment, and Tezara – an elf druid – used rations to distract the swarm long enough to pull away.

The party stumbled across a group of goblins sat around a campfire. After a bit of back-and-forth, the party attempted to leave them alone before realising it was the only way that didn't involve giant spiders.

The goblins attacked when the party intruded too far into their home. Arthur – a halfling paladin – managed to kill one, before Whisper – Tezara's warcat companion killed another. Davos charged a third and hit him so hard, he was reduced to a thin red mist in the air. The remaining goblin surrendered.

Investigating further, the party found a one-eyed goblin accompanied by a cougar. She had the party go to fight the spiders. After some difficulty, during which Arthur was severely wounded and poisoned, the party killed one of the swarms. They used rolling, burning logs to kill another swarm. Tezara attempted to tame a giant spider, mostly by distracting it with food.

Attempting to tame a much larger spider, it turned on Tezara hissing intimidatingly. Frightened, Fijit let loose with a magical missile, thus triggering combat.

During the battle, Davos was badly wounded, though thankfully, a bit of Arthur's luck rubbed off on him, allowing him to resist the spiders venom. Proving victorious over the spider, the group took its head and returned to the goblin druid. She paid the party 5 gold each for their services. Davos attempted to "promise" to come back and kill her if the goblins harrassed the nearby town. She sassed back to try making those threats without being half-dead, triggering another combat from the insulted half-orc.

The battle was long and hard, but the party proved victorious over her.

Returning to the tavern in Amgate, the party were rewarded with 50 gold each, though the bartender seemed concerned about the now-dead "Moodeye", leader of the goblin tribe. The party settled in to celebrate while Tezara and Whisper took their hard-earned loot to be identified.

WHAT I LEARNED:

- Familiarise myself with the monsters and their abilities before using them in combat; too much time was spent looking this up in a panic mid-combat.

- Describe more!

- Maybe don't use pre-built traps…

- The dice hate Cody.
